Meet Your Paediatrician
Welcoming a new baby is an exciting time, often accompanied by many questions and
uncertainties. Our antenatal consultations provide an opportunity for expectant parents and
caregivers to meet their paediatrician before their baby’s arrival, establish a trusting
relationship, and discuss any concerns in a relaxed and supportive environment.
During your consultation, we can discuss:
- Preparing for your newborn’s arrival
- Infant feeding options, including breastfeeding, formula feeding, and combination
- feeding
- Newborn care and what to expect during the first few weeks of life
- Any medical concerns or family history that may influence your baby’s care
- Your questions, expectations, and preferences for your baby’s healthcare journey
Our goal is to provide reassurance, evidence-based guidance, and personalised support,
helping you feel informed and confident as you prepare to welcome your little one.
Attendance at delivery
When requested, we attend newborn deliveries to provide immediate specialist care, ensuring
your baby receives expert assessment and support from the very first moments of life. This
includes newborn resuscitation and stabilisation when required, a comprehensive post-
delivery assessment, and ongoing care during the neonatal period.
Newborn and Infant Wellness Care
We offer routine newborn and infant health assessments to monitor your baby’s growth,
development, nutrition, and overall wellbeing. These visits provide an opportunity to identify
concerns early, offer preventive healthcare, and support parents through each stage of their
child’s development.
High-Risk Developmental Follow-up
Babies with complex medical needs, premature birth, or other developmental risk factors
benefit from specialised follow-up care. We provide comprehensive developmental
assessments and, where appropriate, coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team of allied
healthcare professionals to ensure every child receives the support they need to reach their
full potential.
Growth and Development
We provide comprehensive preventive healthcare to support your child’s growth,
development, and long-term wellbeing.
Our services include:
- Growth monitoring: Regular assessment of your child’s growth patterns, nutrition, and overall health to ensure they are thriving.
- Developmental assessments: Comprehensive developmental evaluations at each wellness visit, including monitoring of physical, emotional, social, and cognitive milestones.
Through regular health assessments, we aim to identify concerns early, provide guidance and
reassurance, and support families in helping their children reach their full potential.
Behavioural Evaluation and Management
We recognise that a child’s emotional, behavioural, and psychological wellbeing is an
important part of their holistic health. Our general paediatric approach includes screening and
comprehensive assessment of behavioural concerns and the development of individualised
management plans tailored to each child and family.
Where appropriate, we will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare
professionals to provide holistic support. In some cases, we may refer to relevant sub-
specialists for ongoing care. Our management approach ensures the best possible care needed
by our patient and their families.
